The wait is over! At Star Wars celebration, 3 new Star Wars films were announced as well as their directors, and we are here to break it all down. In this addition of What’s Poppin’, we discuss the Star Wars Celebration Announcements from the films to the shows and share our opinions on what sounds good and what needs to be thrown in the sarlacc pit. LETS-A-GO! After 30 years, The Super Mario Bros. have returned to the silver screen and this time in animated form! Nintendo has teamed up with Illumination to put their best foot forward in terms of delivering the most accurate representation of Mario possible. But did they succeed? We all know there was a ton of chatter about the voices, the look of the characters, the plot, etc. But none of that noise matters until the movie is a complete product and you can judge it as such. In our spoiler free The Super Mario Bros. Movie review, we’ll address all of those apprehensions by analyzing the voice acting performances, discussing the production value, and deciding if this film justified its own existence. Which raises this question about the newly-released Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film: is it a blind money grab with a hodgepodge cast headlined by A-list stud Chris Pine? Or is it an opportunistic and thoughtful homage to a game that so many have come to love over the years? It also could be neither! Sequels, Prequels, Remakes, Reboots, Adaptations, Reimaginings, and Trailers. SO MANY TRAILERS. We have no idea what happened at the end of March and early April, but for some reason, the major studios decided to take turns throwing haymakers at each other in the form of massive movie and TV news stories. Very few action franchises have achieved the kind of consistent excellence that the John Wick Franchise has over the first 3 films. But, with each sequel, there is always the chance of a dud. Stakes get higher, budgets get bigger, plots get more complicated, and everything becomes harder to balance. Which brings us here, to our John Wick Chapter 4 Review. In our spoiler free John Wick 4 review, we cover as much as possible without spoiling the film including the newcomers to the cast and where this film ultimately ranks in the John Wick franchise. PLUS, have you ever thought about how many characters die in a certain film? Kirk cooked up a game where you have to guess which of the two films had the higher body count and you may be surprised by some of the answers.
